Stated Meetings

Presbyterian Church (USA)

The Hunger Action Network is a gathering of people from the PWR who have a passion to engage in hunger ministries in both local and global arenas. Our focus is on hunger but it connects with other issues of health, poverty, education, and food access. HAN works in partnership with the Presbyterian Hunger Program (PHP) and Bread for the World, as well as other local organizations.

Our purpose is to engage congregations in local and global hunger work by providing resources, training and connections with mission partners and pertinent agencies.  We strive to follow a holistic approach to hunger justice, as modeled by the five area of the PHP: Direct food relief, combined with root cause work; Sustainable development; Advocacy; Intentional and sustainable living; and Education.  We want to celebrate what churches are doing and at the same time challenge them to address root causes of hunger so as to provide community transformation.

What kinds of things has the HAN  been up to in 2017?
