The funds will be used to support a Summer Youth Enrichment Program, a six-week summer day camp for youth six to twelve years of age. Teenagers ages 13-18 are hired to work as counselors in the day camp. Last year the program had an enrollment of approximately 100 and employed a total of 33 teens. Hunger Network Emergency Food Expansion $5,000

Contact Person: Sandra Ralston sralston@hungernetwork.org (216)619-8155

The hunger Network is the largest emergency food distribution center in Cuyahoga County. The funds will be used to purchase food. The center purchases 95% of the food it gives away and provides meals for $0.25 per person and hot meals prepared by volunteers at a cost of $0.79 per meal.

Lorain Co. Lutheran/Presbyterian Cooperative Ministry $6,000

Contact Person: Rev. James E. Smucker, Trustee (440)-988-9409

The purpose of the cooperative is to help meet the most basic need of people whose income makes it difficult to purchase adequate food. Many of their elderly clients must decide between buying food or prescription medications they need. Many of the parents must decide between buying food or clothing needed by their children. For all of their clients, being forced to seek emergency food diminishes their sense of dignity and independence. Presbytery funds would be used to help distribute food to those in need.

New Life Fellowship Church Summer Camp $3,000

Contact Person: Tony Britt (216)206-0470

The purpose of the program is for the children to Know God through Jesus Christ, to grow in Him by the word, Prayer, Worship, Fellowship, and to Show our Faith by witnessing, serving and giving. The program is a 5 week summer camp and the funding will support the core budget of the program.

North Presbyterian Church Homeless Outreach $3,000

Contact Person: Rev. Charles Hurst (216)431-3726

North Presbyterian is a small but lively congregation filled with the Spirit of Christ and a commitment to their neighborhood. Funding would support the homeless program. This funding is for food, personal supplies and hot meals.
